Tai Chi | Liam Grange ~ No Longer Teaching at The Angel Hall
Tai-Chi is the art of embodying Yin and Yang, both within ones own body and in relation to an other body. Tai-Chi brings our awareness into our bodies to create alignment, relaxation and soft yet powerful movement. It is a martial art that can be practiced for health, for self-defense or for (spiritual) self-cultivation.
Liam teaches Cheng Man-Ching's 37 Step form as well as all of the partner work, qigong and sword skills that are part of that system.

Tai-chi (Taiji-quan) is a Chinese health cultivation practice and martial art based on profound Taoist and Confucian philosophy. It is known around the world for it's slow, flowing and graceful movements as well as the health benefits it confers such as stress reduction, relaxation, increased leg strength, balance and stability, improvements to posture and breathing, lifting of mood and general sense of well-being. It can be trained for health, for combat and self-defense, or for meditation, mindfulness and spiritual practice (or all three!).
We teach Cheng Man-Ching style of Tai-chi Chuan (Zhengzi Taijiquan), centered on Cheng's 37 Step form, which is sometimes called the Simplified Yang Style Form. Our teaching includes qigong (breath work) and neigong (internal alignment work) to relax and strengthen the body while calming the mind, cooperative and non-cooperative partner-work to develop essential skills such as “listening” or tactile sensitivity and “neutralising”, weapons training and forms (saber, sword, spear) to train fluidity, dexterity and elastic force. All skills start from and are trained through practice of the 37 Step Form.
